Department Summary The Department of Family Medicine/ Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine is a multifaceted, interdisciplinary team of dedicated healthcare providers and researchers who are committed to providing excellence in clinical care, primary care education, and research. Through innovative curricular designs, early clinical experiences, and mentorship, the Department is focused on producing highly competent, caring, and compassionate Family Medicine/OMM physicians, helping reduce the shortage of primary care physicians in our Texas communities. Position Overview The Department of Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine is seeking to hire an Assistant Professor to join our team and help teach and mentor Doctor of Osteopathy medical students and residents. This position will provide resident teaching support for the MCFW Family Residency Program. Minimum Qualifications DO/MD Degree Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds. - Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing - Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships - Knowledge and experience in using various teaching methods to create an effective learning environment - Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple responsibilities, including teaching, research, and clinical duties Required License/Registration/Certifications The successful candidate will possess the following required qualification: DO/MD Degree Job Duties: Teaching outside of precepting Advising and mentoring residents Participation in scholarly activity Participation in Didactics as speakers Faculty Development Curriculum development and implementation Interviewing and selecting resident applicants Completing the annual ACGME Faculty Survey Participating on the program's Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) Participating on Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) and other GME committees.
