Retail Executive - Mid Florida Market

SUMMARY: ADMINISTRATION: Planning, Organizing, Managing and Controlling assigned branches in support of BankUnited's Strategic and Annual Plans. Liaison for major initiatives of other corporate departments. This is done primarily through reporting Sales & Service Managers. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Coordination of all market branch activities related to deposit and loan growth. Personal representation of BankUnited as its most Senior Officer within assigned markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
BANK GOALS & OBJECTIVES

  • Communicate and manage:

    • Market Annual Business Plan and Market Budgets / Related Results
    • Commercial Consumer Banking initiatives in support of Plan / Related Results
    • Departmental Initiatives of other major bank functions
    • Directives of Executive Management
    • Ongoing communication to branch network through Retail Sales & Service Managers and directly to Branch


  • Teams /communication of performance results and feedback
  • Accountability:

    • Retail Executive to be actively involved in two to three board/business development Activities in the market
    • Ensuring 75% of Market Leader (MLs) achieve overall performance rating of 75 points (+) and loan qualifier in each quarter
    • Develop MLs to achieve 50% ration of submitted to approved on loan applications
    • Develop MLs to achieve 75% ratio of approved to closed on loan applications in each quarter
    • Inspect ML business plans to ensure 75% achievement of goals and key initiatives (Service Charge waivers <5%, 3-2-1, LOB referrals).


  • FINANCIAL, AUDIT & COMPLIANCE

    • Budget development and control
    • Utilization of Operating Authorities
    • Approval of CD rate exceptions
    • Expense Control at all levels / Capital Expenses
    • Branch Audits / review and coach as necessary
    • Compliance responsibility for reporting branches


  • HUMAN RESOURCES

    • Performance Appraisal of MLs / Assurance of timeliness of appraisals in all reporting units
    • Teammate Acquisition Forms / approval requirement for all supported requests
    • Interview of Candidates for ML and ABL positions/approvals
    • Career Development for Direct & Indirect Reports through Training & Education
    • Employee counseling, discipline and corrective actions related to all branch staff.


  • MARKETING & PR

    • Assurance of strong involvement in Community & Business Organizations / all communities served
    • Coordination of branch initiatives with assigned corporate marketing representatives
    • Provision of user input regarding specific markets
    • Development of specific plans for individual local markets


  • BRANCH SITES

    • Recommendations for sites within reporting markets
    • Review of sites proffered by bank Properties Division
    • Reconfiguration of markets as new branches are added


  • Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
  • Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activity.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree required and Advanced degree preferred
EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ Years of experience managing multiple banking units preferred
  • May consider alternate combination of education/experience but preference will be given to candidates with indicated degree and experience required
