Job Summary: Overall responsibility for effective and efficient project mobilization through scheduling workforce for installation of sheet metal systems on company projects. Responsibilities include coordinating with team members, supervising staff, maintaining safety standards, scheduling work, managing materials, and delivering projects on time and within budget. The position requires leadership skills, industry knowledge, and proficiency in interpreting plans. Demonstrates understanding of project schedules and labor forecasting. Has thorough knowledge of required codes and standards, as well as proper tool and equipment needs.

Experience/Education Requirements:



  • Local 10 SM member in good standing: with the ability to obtain secondary state license within a year of hire. Must keep state licenses current and in good standing.
  • 7 years' experience in sheet metal, mechanical and HVAC industry.
  • 5 years minimum supervisory experience, including GF role or foreman experience leading multiple crews, ensuring that protocols and policies are known and followed properly. While checking the safety, consistency and quality of work.
  • Exceptional communication (verbal, written, electronic) and planning skills.
  • Valid state driver's license and able to travel as needed for project and department support.
  • OSHA 30 / MSHA- preferred

Jobsite:



  • Proactively work with project manager to manage and schedule field staff to efficiently meet deadlines and completion of projects within budgeted hours, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications and meets Jamar standards.
  • Effectively communicate objectives and goals to workers; keep in close communication with field teams and PM to relay change orders, schedule issues/changes, etc
  • Verify crews have necessary tools and equipment to complete the job safely and accurately, while making certain that all tools and equipment get returned from completed projects
  • Manage the quality of work performed in the field; deliver appropriate follow-up recommendations to Department Manager for additional training, as necessary.


Team Leader



  • Responsible for Sheetmetal crew power across the Jamar Company, support other teams with specific crew power needs as they arise.
  • Plan and sequence project needs to include a 3-week look ahead including necessary manpower.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with field team, general contractors, owners/customers, and vendors to lead a positive work environment.
  • Work with field leaders to help identify training and development suitable for their advancement.
  • Proactively address issues and resolve them. Motivate staff and remove obstacles to guarantee project success. Work equally with labor and office staff to promote effective communication channels.
  • Support younger leaders by mentoring and placing them on crews to learn from other senior field leaders.
  • Spend time with apprentice to make sure they are progressing adequately and work with their field leader to ensure they are being given additional responsibility and challenging them in a purposeful way. Be sure they understand the "why" behind the way we do things.
  • Verify and approve timecards in accordance with payroll processing schedule.


Business Operations:



  • Work with local Business Agents (BA) to recruit quality labor force, that the expectations of our work quality and performance are adhered to and verify union ratios are met per the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Work with HVAC inspectors throughout project lifecycle
  • Ensure up-to-date safety training and applicable equipment certifications for all field personnel and confirm daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) or Safe Starts are being completed.
  • Verify all required licenses and certifications are in place and current.
  • Assist with project turnovers and project close outs as needed
  • Assist with pricing materials and hardware, help evaluate time/materials estimates and takeoffs
  • Assist PMs with equipment selection and review of design to help identify cost savings and code compliance.
  • Participate in team meetings including strategic planning meetings; sharing insights, helping to lead innovation, promoting a positive culture, and ideas for efficiency improvements
  • Stay abreast on all applicable building code updates to ensure code compliance in all areas we complete work.
  • Actively participate in programs, policies and initiatives designed to enhance the overall good of the company and parent corporation

Pay Range:



  • Wages and other benefits are paid in accordance with the Local #10 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • $50.00-$54.00 per hour depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
