Description

The History Department at Carnegie Mellon University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor in History of Science and Technology and/or Science and Technology Studies for the 2025-2026 academic year. We encourage applications from scholars who can provide social and cultural insight into fields that have a strong presence at Carnegie Mellon. The successful applicant will teach the equivalent of two courses per semester (four total), including the large introductory course "Technology and Society." Applicants should have their Ph.D. in hand by June 30, 2025. Term of appointment: August 1, 2025-July 31, 2026. Compensation: $60,000 plus benefits as well as a $2,500 research budget and $2,500 in relocation expenses.
