Description

The Associate Director of Business Development will be responsible for accelerating the company's growth through external collaborations. This position sources product licensing and co-development opportunities, builds and leads deal and diligence teams, and negotiates agreements to access promising candidates and technologies across dosage forms and therapeutic areas. This position supports the development, and execution of business development plans and processes that will accomplish department objectives. This position manages the existing partnerships in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Note: This position reports to Senior Director of Business Development. The preferred location for this position is in the Grand Rapids, Michigan or Minneapolis, Minnesota metro areas with a hybrid in-office/remote work schedule. Fully remote arrangement will also be considered for candidates based in NJ/NY/PA.

Job duties:



  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate potential business development opportunities including in-licensing, out-licensing, co-development, and product acquisition aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Prepare forecast and business case for business development opportunities in collaboration with Portfolio Management, IP, Commercial, and Finance.
  • Lead scientific and financial assessments and cross-functional due diligence reviews to develop and validate business case to support investment thesis.
  • Develop and recommend deal structures and financial terms, and lead negotiations of term sheets and contracts with potential partners in collaboration with a deal team.
  • Manage existing partnerships in collaboration with cross-function teams and participate in regular project review meetings.
  • Build and maintain network of business development partners and represent Padagis at partnering events.



Minimum qualifications:



  • Advanced degree in business, life sciences, medicine or law (e.g. PharmD, MBA, JD) or equivalent combination of scientific and business education/experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development experience with a record of accomplishment in leading and successfully completing product acquisition and licensing transactions in pharma and life sciences with a preference for generic pharma deal making experience. Accomplishments should be supported by a deal-sheet.
  • Fluent in product analytics, valuation methodologies, and building business cases to assess product potential.
  • Fluent with product analytics tools (e.g. IQVIA, Cortellis, Biomedtracker, IPD Analytics, PriceRx).
  • Conversant with pricing, reimbursing, contracting, primary-secondary research to forecast potential revenue for opportunities.
  • Proven ability to build and lead deal teams, drive business decisions, and manage multiple projects effectively with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of drug-technology, development, and commercialization processes with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams.
  • Energetic, results-driven self-starter with a collaborative mindset, and ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Skillful presenter of scientific and business information to leadership.
