Description
The Process Senior Engineer I is responsible for performing mastery level design and analysis work as directed to support various field and fabrication offices. The Process Senior Engineer I will be part of a project team from inception through construction completion. The role will serve as a discipline lead for projects, managing internal and external resources as assigned/required.

- Checks entire job for interferences, operational safety, and overall quality assurance.

- Cooperates with other team members; interacts with individuals at all organizational levels in professional manner.
- Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments.
- Works on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
- Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
- Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products.
- Assists upper-level management or staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
- Leads Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Sessions and participates in HAZOP studies.
- Executes process engineering deliverables according to a set engineering design criteria utilizing approved engineering procedures, practices, and standards.
- Prepares, coordinates, and reviews designs, studies, reports, and proposals.
- Takes the initiative to coordinate the detailed design development of a system with other engineering disciplines while managing workload and meeting delivery dates.
- Coordinates work with all staff necessary to complete assignments.
- Prepares proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs.
- Receives supervision and guidance related to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
- Receives direction on unusual conditions and developments.
- Represents the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments.
- Performs other related duties, as required.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required. Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
- 6+ years' related engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of systems and chemical engineering practices and processes.
- Demonstrated experience developing process parameters including mass flow, heat transfer, material balance capacities and rates.
- Demonstrated experience with one of the following analysis tools: HYSYS, ProMax or other simulation software.
- Demonstrated experience producing PFDs, PIDs, Layouts and Specifications.
- Demonstrated experience developing basic process data with preliminary information.
- Demonstrated experience specifying process data for instrumentation and control valves.
- Demonstrated experience developing sizing information for Process Equipment (compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, distillation columns, separators, reactors, etc.) and providing process information for equipment data sheets.
- Demonstrated experiences generating utility summary information and utility calculations for systems such as instrument air, steam demineralized water, and nitrogen.
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with the mechanical, structural, and electrical engineers.
- Demonstrated experience with the generation and management of key design basis documents.
- General understanding of NFPA, API and ASME codes. Specific knowledge on NFPA 58, NFPA 59A, API 2000, API 520 and API 521 are desired.
- Experience developing construction cost estimates for industrial installations including quantity development.
- Experience providing model review support and comments for 3D plant models and pipe routings.
- Experience with Manual Valve selections.
- Demonstrated experience with Battery Limit Lists including the line lists, equipment list, and initial instrument list.
- Experience with logic diagrams and cause & effect charts for the facility.
- Experience with relief valve sizing / scenario documentation, flare system analysis and final reporting, including the sizing of the relief valve inlet and outlet line sizing.
- Extensive experience in developing LNG plants, preferably through the full life cycle of study to EPC stage.
- Demonstrated experience in LNG processing: Including FERC filing, mixed refrigerant storage, BOG compression specification, Heat Leak calculations and interfacing with Pretreatment and Liquefaction packages.
- Demonstratives a proactive approach and consistently positive demeanor.
- Possess advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Occasional overtime and travel will be required.
