Position Overview

Pantheon Data is seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team, specializing in machinery control and monitoring systems (MCMS), electrical wiring, schematics, and electrical/mechanical control systems for government or large commercial vessels. In this role, you will leverage your extensive background-at least seven years of experience in the design, construction, and repair of these systems-to provide crucial engineering support for shipbuilding and repair projects. Your expertise in reviewing technical documents, analyzing electrical distribution, and ensuring compliance with industry standards will be key to maintaining the highest quality in our projects. As part of a collaborative engineering support team, you will be responsible for evaluating planned changes, ensuring accuracy in drawings, and managing the technical aspects of electrical power systems. Responsibilities



  • Conduct engineering design research and advise on technical issues or deficiencies.
  • Review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) and other technical submittals from shipbuilders for specification adherence.
  • Conduct schematic reviews and electrical system analysis including load distribution, vital/non-vital loads, and LVR/LVP requirements in order to evaluate planned engineering changes in support of major shipbuilding acquisition and repair projects.
  • Review electrical distribution drawings, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control schematics for completeness and conformance to the NSC technical specifications.
  • Review and/or create engineering charges for ship power generating and electrical distribution systems.
  • Analyze non-electrical engineering changes for impacts on the use and distribution of electrical power and the relevant interfaces.
  • Work with an engineering support team ensuring quality control standards of deliverables.


Required Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, other similar engineering program, or relevant technical program. An additional 6 years work experience or 4 years of additional work experience with an Associate's degree may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least seven (7) years demonstrated experience with Government or large commercial vessel design, construction, and repair with primary focus on Machinery Control and Monitoring Systems (MCMS), electrical wiring, schematics, cabling, and electrical/mechanical controls systems.
  • Familiarity with the development of work items, drawings, analysis, cost estimates, and technical reports for ship repair or related projects; and/or participation in a DOD/DHS ACAT Level I (major) acquisition program are desired
  • Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.


Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Work Location: Washington, DC (USCGHQ) - Hybrid

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
