The Director of Powerplant MRO is responsible for overseeing all engine, module and piece part MRO activities at Chromalloy Material Solutions. This includes leading a team of powerplant managers, repair managers and associated demand planners. Success will be measured by achieving or beating targets and budgets for engine, module and piece part MRO cost, turnaround time, and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

Engine / Module Build Management:



  • Lead a team of technical powerplant managers to achieve targets for cost, turnaround time and quality for engine MRO activities.
  • Lead all technical and commercial negotiations with external MRO organizations for both owned and managed engine and module MRO.
  • Maintain world class levels of engine oversight, cost management, and on time delivery.
  • Ability to concisely and accurately provide project cost and timing status at any time to the highest levels of the company.



Piece Part Repair Management:



  • Lead a team of repair managers to achieve targets for cost, turn around time and quality for engine piece part repair activities.
  • Serve as focal point for negotiations with external repair organizations to achieve lowest cost and highest quality repairs.
  • Serve as focal point driving internal Chromalloy repair shops with market intelligence on external repair competitors' price, yields, and capabilities.
  • Using scrap analysis and repair availability information, drive Chromalloy repair and PMA new product development teams to NPIs that reduce CMS cost and expand Chromalloy's repair and PMA businesses.



Requirements:

Education: Minimum High School or GED plus a related technical certification such as FAA A&P license. Bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly preferred.

Experience: Minimum 10 years of demonstrated excellence managing engine and or part MRO activities at an MRO, operator or leasing company. Minimum 5 years of demonstrated success leading technical engine and/or repair teams. In shop management experience greatly preferred.

Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated technical expertise on the MRO and operations of at least one of: CF6, PW4000, CFM, or V2500 engine lines.
  • Track record of achieving cost, TAT and quality targets for MRO activities.
  • Proven ability to negotiate commercially successful MRO agreements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in a high paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including the abilities to set goals, motivate and manage conflict.
  • Strong communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening
  • Exceptional project management skills, including strong decision-making, problem-solving and strategic planning abilities
