General Job Description: This leadership position is responsible for leading the safety department to ensure the safety and health of all union and non-union employees across all locations. Directly supervises safety directors. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: column for each role
- Oversee the overall safety and health of all union and non-union employees across all locations.
- Lead the development of a positive safety culture through stakeholder engagement, implementation of company safety standards and procedures, and strategically manage injury and return-to-work processes for optimal outcomes.
- Implement a data-driven approach, evaluating leading and lagging indicators to continuously improve, effectively mitigating risk/liability, and minimizing employee injuries. Engage in strategic thinking to plan, evaluate, and determine how to improve ACCO's safety metrics.
- Build and empower high-performing safety teams through effective hiring, training, and mentorship, ensuring optimal resource allocation and driving individual and team growth through targeted support and accountability.
- Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including meeting with client's safety staff and actively participating in key industry safety organizations.
- Proactively monitor and interpret evolving local, state, and federal regulations, ensuring strict adherence and timely, accurate responses to all compliance requirements, effectively mitigating organizational risk.
- Enhance employee safety awareness through engaging and innovative programs and ensure the effectiveness of safety training by continuously reviewing and updating content to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with leadership to align safety expectations, ensure clear communication and effective implementation of safety policies, deliver performance-based feedback, and serve as the company's safety expert for all employees.
- Facilitate review of serious injuries and incidents to analyze and determine appropriate corrective actions and preventive measures needed.
- Stay abreast of natural disasters, environmental, and societal risks to ensure timely communication on safety measures needed are distributed to employees.
- Participate in evaluating customer safety programs and project-specific hazards to proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring contractual safety compliance.

Position Requirements (Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses, etc.):
- Associate degree (public safety/construction safety)
- Bachelor's degree preferred (health science/physical safety)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction safety management and leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective conflict resolution skills
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team engagement skills to facilitate a positive team environment
- Strong understanding and experience in implementing industry best practices
- Strong understanding of current government regulations as it pertains to occupational health and safety
- CHST or equivalent from Board of Safety Professionals

Travel: 0-25% of the time to and from the assigned office location to regional branch offices and/or to project/customer site(s). Competitive Wages: $170,000 to $250,000 Annual Salary.
