Position Summary

Under the direction of the Division Lead, manage each project assigned according to Forgen corporate philosophy of safe, quality production while securing the most favorable economic outcome for Forgen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving a safety culture which promotes Incident and Injury Free Performance.
  • Provide initial client contact to assess scope of work and resources required to successfully complete project.
  • Prepare complete estimates for project specific change order work with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information, contracting and the like.
  • Assist with supervision of the total construction effort to ensure project is completed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives and subcontractors.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, and may provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.).
  • Supervise employees and other subcontractors as required by the contract.
  • Provide technical assistance, i.e. interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc. as required. Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
  • Assume responsibility for daily documentation as required by the client and Forgen.
  • Generate and maintain a loaded schedule using P6, develop meeting minutes and create agenda for weekly client and company meetings.
  • Work directly with Project Superintendent to maintain costing for the overall project.
  • Track and maintain all documents associated with recycling, transportation, and disposal.
  • Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.


Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Candidates should have a minimum of five to ten years of applicable experience in the construction industry or;
  • In lieu of a degree, candidates must possess equivalent applicable experience in the construction industry, with a minimum of eight years of experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to drive on behalf of company business.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Past experience in a construction environment which demands outstanding safety performance a plus.
  • The following safety training is preferred, but not mandatory. Company will provide additional training, as necessary.

    • 40 Hour HAZWOPER training.
    • Competent Person Safety Training
    • 8-Hour OSHA Refresher Training
    • 10-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training
    • First Aid and CPR




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Understanding of demolition activities and associated work including recycling, management of materials and site restoration.
  • Ability to work with accounting software and cost accounting systems or cost tracking.
  • Must thoroughly understand the scope of project through plans and project specifications.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand construction drawings.
  • Strong computer aptitude and understanding of Microsoft Project & Primavera scheduling software (P6).
  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Above average oral and written communication skills, leadership skills, along with use of independent judgement and creativity applied to resolution of issues.
  • Highly proactive and responsive to internal and external customers
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and advise project leadership on complex issues
  • Good problem-solving skills/decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This office-based role requires frequent computer use and effective communication, with occasional travel to project sites as needed. Site visits may involve extended periods of standing or walking and required PPE, with potential exposure to heavy equipment, chemicals, dust, fumes, uneven terrain, and extreme weather.
