This is an internal need to fill a postion for an Operations Division Lead on the Integrated Mission Operations Contract III (IMOC III) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

Responsibilities

The Operations Division Lead will:

    The Barrios IMOC Operations Division Lead will assist the Barrios IMOC Program Manager in the administrative supervision of Barrios employees in FOD's Operations Division (CO). The Lead will work with employees in the DOCS, MAVRIC, PLUTO, ODF, and Ops Plan teams and should have a working understanding of those groups to facilitate mentorship, assist the Program Manager with performance appraisals, be responsible for coordinating with the customer on employee actions (including but not limited to hiring and corrective actions)
  • The Operations Division Lead role is that of a facilitator. All technical personnel receive day-to-day guidance from IMOC III management. This function focuses on personnel administration and serves as the Barrios' company representative to the IMOC III Operations Division
  • Represent Barrios and Barrios interests to IMOC III Operations Division Management
  • Recruit personnel, facilitate candidate/customer interviews, and implement hiring actions in accordance with Barrios' policies and procedures and KBR's contractual requirements
  • Requires regular interaction with IMOC III Technical Area Leads (TALs), an ability to understand their needs and translate those needs into a successful candidate list for which you will coordinate interviews with the Hiring Manager
  • Personnel management:
    • Interact with approximately 15+ Barrios personnel at some frequency in order to infuse the Barrios culture into the workforce, stay abreast of employee needs and goals, and advocate for the workforce
      o Interact with IMOC technical managers in order to support Barrios employees and their career objectives, understand and address employee performance issues, participate in performance evaluations
      o Coordinate with Barrios IMOC III Program Manager regarding performance appraisals and communicate annual merit increases for each employee
  • Review and assess IMOC III Operations Division Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) concerns with other Barrios work scope
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Barrios IMOC Operations Division Lead is a part-time matrixed position and must already be employed under another Barrios contract


Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree + 15 years or Master's of Science Degree + 10 years of in in Physics, Mathematics or Engineering (ABET)
  • Knowledge of flight control, especially experience as one or more of the following positions: Operations Planning (Ops Plan), Remote Interface Officer (RIO)/Houston Support Group (HSG) required
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, technical, and administrative skills are mandatory
  • Candidate must have a demonstrated ability to plan, lead, and coordinate a wide range of tasks
  • Candidate must be able to apply technical knowledge and operations concepts to exercise effective decision making and initiative in a real-time and fast-paced operational environment
  • Candidate should be a self-starter who excels in a dynamic environment that requires him/her to work effectively both alone or as part of a team
  • Successful candidates must be a US Citizen and be able to apply for and successfully receive and maintain security clearance per eligibility requirements

  • This position requires strict adherence to deadlines, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Work may involve sitting for extended periods
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs
  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary
  • Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task
  • Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)
  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere
  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed
