For candidates based in New York State, this position starts at $26.75 per hour. Successful candidates earn an additional $2.00 per hour for an unrestricted CDL-A license as well as an additional $3.00 per hour for ASE certifications.

Schedule: 8-hour shift Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm; or 4 - 10 hours shifts with a rotation each week of Monday through Thursday or Tuesday - Friday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm; overtime and weekends as needed.

** This is a union position covered through Teamsters Local 294 Union. **

Candidates will be required to understand the following operational needs:

* Perform all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair.
* Perform vehicle safety inspections.
* Perform road service work as needed.
* Complete proper paperwork as required.
* Other duties as assigned or necessitated by change or condition.

Work Environment:

The employee is exposed to the weather conditions as the seasons dictate when road testing vehicles for maintenance and inspection purposes.

Education and/or Experience:

* High School Graduate or equivalent.
* Employee must have at least a combination of four years vehicle maintenance and repair experience and/or equivalent maintenance training.
* CDL-A or B preferred; must be willing to obtain post-employment.
* NY inspection license required/ability to obtain.
* Must be able to communicate with supervisors, drivers and fellow employees for vehicle problems and safety.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
* Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations to analyze and solve vehicle problems.

Knowledge in the following areas is required:

Air Brakes, Air Suspension, Tires, Climate Control, Electrical Accessories on Trailers, Trailer/Reefer Preventative Maintenance. Carrier Reefer Knowledge Preferred.
