Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
The successful candidate must have a PhD in a social or behavioral science discipline, such as anthropology, geography, psychology, sociology, political science, planning and/or public policy. Exceptional ABD candidates with significant teaching experience will also be considered if the dissertation is completed before start of the position. The candidate must have demonstrated expertise with respect to topics central to the Environmental Policy, Institutions, and Behavior ( EPIB) program and prior experience teaching undergraduate students. As the candidate will be expected to teach three courses per semester, the ability to plan and manage multiple courses in a single semester is critical. The candidate would teach Introduction to EPIB (fall and spring) with one section in person and one section asynchronous remote online. Depending on expertise and interest, the candidate could teach additional classes like Environmental Justice, U.S. Environmental Policy, Health and Culture, and/or Water and Society. Summer stipends to develop and propose new classes, redesign online and in-person classes, and help develop experiential learning opportunities may be available.
