Material Handler

We are currently looking for a dynamic individual as a Material Handler for our Advanced Materials organization at our plant located in Akron, OH.

In summary, as the Material Handler, you will:

• Prepare domestic and export orders, loading trucks and containers and general labor-type activities according to directives given by supervision.
• Print pick lists, packing lists, BOLs, and COAs. Perform goods receipt, goods issue, and other functions within SAP or other relevant Inventory Management System.
• Moving tank trucks and trailers around the plant area.
• Handle raw materials and finished product inventories, and unload packaging supplies for the process areas such as metal and fiber drums.
• Train in plant clean-up.
• Understand the operation of the shipping department and its equipment and troubleshoot problems.
• Perform work as required in the event of an emergency and perform minor maintenance.
• Duties are not limited to the above description as it may be necessary to perform work of a similar or lower skill level. This includes assisting in other areas of the plant, assisting in plant programs, and other activities as directed by supervision.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Must have a high regard for safety and the environment.
• Must be computer literate with the ability to communicate through email and use digital systems.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to following production, quality, and safety protocol.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or college experience is a plus.
• Experience working in chemical manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Tow-motor operator and Tractor/trailer operator experience, a plus.

Working Environment

• Ability to work in a physical, industrial environment.
• Must be able to sit for long periods on tow-motor.
• Must be able to stand on feet for long periods.
• Must be able to lift to 63 lbs.
• Must be able to squat and bend without issue.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Must be able to reach overhead without restrictions.
• Wear full Personal Protective Equipment including respirator and SCBA.
