STV currently has openings in ourPhiladelphia, Pittsburgh, Douglassville, Harrisburg, PA, Newark or Lawrenceville, NJoffices for Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Resource Design Team in our Transportation and Infrastructure Division.

The successful candidate will have experience in water resources and will serve as the Water Resources task leader and the PE sealing engineer on drainage, E&S, and stormwater plans and reports, as well as quality control for project and permit deliverables for our various transportation projects. Anticipated tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Delivery of conveyance, E&S, stormwater calculations and plans, and NPDES permit application packages to either PA or NJ Department of Environmental Protection, Army Corps of Engineers, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Storm sewer system design including inlet, manhole and pipe calculations and modeling utilizing NJDOT and PennDOT practices.
  • E&S staging, detailing, grading designs, BMP calculations and design, drawing production and narrative development on bridge and highway projects to support waterway and NPDES permits.
  • Stormwater pre- and post-construction volume, rate and water quality analyses, SCM and BMP design, watershed routing analyses, and drawing and narrative production.
  • Integrate into the project delivery teams, multi-task multiple deliverable schedules and projects and be able to coach and mentor staff with less water resources experience.
  • Management of water resources task budget.
  • Hydrology/hydraulics models and waterway permits are a plus.

The Water Resources Engineer will assist/lead team members in collaborating with various transportation agencies throughout PA and/or NJ.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 8-12 years of experience.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer Experience with hydrology and hydraulics design and analysis software, MicroStation, Bentley InRoads Storm and Sanitary and/or OpenRoads Drainage and Utility Modeler, watershed routing programs such as HydroCAD, Bentley Pondpack or similar. Standard Microsoft Office Suite of products is required.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, FHWA HY-8, Aquaveo Watershed Modeling System (WMS) and other modeling tools is a plus.
  • PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, NJDOT and/or NJ Turnpike Authority experience is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in the current PADEP & NJDEP Stormwater regulations, Pennsylvania & New Jersey Stormwater BMP Manual/Green Infrastructure, roadway and permitting requirements.
  • Ability to determine scope of work and prepare estimates for water resource engineering tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

Compensation Range:

$100,226.48 - $133,635.31
