Position Summary

The Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education at the University of Southern Indiana invites applications for a 1-Year Temporary 9-month Teaching Assistant Professor of Geology to begin August 2025. The Department of Geology, Physics, and Environmental Science seeks an applicant who can teach structure and tectonics/neotectonics as well as other courses related to our Geology and Environmental Science programs, such as GIS, remote sensing, and/or other subjects in the successful candidate's specialty area.

Duties/Responsibilities

This position includes classroom and laboratory teaching assignments in introductory courses for majors and non-majors.

Required Knowledge and Skills

A Doctorate in Geology or closely related field is required. Doctoral candidates will be considered at the rank of Instructor if the terminal degree is not conferred by hire date.

The Department of Geology, Physics, and Environmental Science offers degree programs in Geology, Environmental Science, Biophysics, Physics, Earth-Space Science Teaching, and Physics Teaching.
