SUMMARY

Coordinates workflow and supervises a team of Business Developments Officers. Coaches and provides oversight in order to implement strategic sales goals and timely processing of loans. Sells SBA, Specialty Market and deposit services to prospective clients. Cross sells a full range of small business banking services to present to potential customers. Provides customer service on assigned accounts, opens new accounts, and responds to client requests. Analyzes credit and financial information and offers products accordingly.

  1. Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements as well as federal and state laws applicable to the job.
  1. Assists the SBA Division Manager with the implementation of effective, realistic, short and long-term tactical plans and concrete objectives to achieve sales strategies. Delegates appropriate responsibilities and authority to accomplish goals. Actively participates in goal achievement by removing obstacles, focusing resources on priorities, coordinating efforts, and monitoring progress.

  2. Assists with the implementation of a sales strategic plan for SBA which incorporates SBA 7A and 504 loans, Conventional Real Estate loans, SBA Express, and depository products to achieve expected results. Demonstrates understanding of sales pipeline process and the correlation to the achievement of needed objectives.

  3. Identifies business opportunities and prospective clients through a variety of sources, including: business and telephone directories, referrals from business associates and cold calling. Formulates and develops a business development plan and calling schedule for prospective clients.

  4. Calls on prospects to explain features of services, cost, and advantages of the Bank's SBA, Specialty Market and deposit products. Discusses financial opportunities and general business conditions. Coordinates and arranges subsequent visits by Bank product specialists, as needed, to enhance and cross sell the relationship.

  5. Develops packages to be sent to underwriting personnel in the SBA or SBLC for analysis and approval. Prepares preliminary financial business spreads for presentation to credit authority.

  6. Exhibits independent judgment, is proactive in problem detection/resolution; and maintains balance between growth and credit quality.

  7. Coordinates the signature process to ensure all loan documents are completed accurately.

  8. Coordinates the signature and enrollment process for all new customers or customers with expanded services.

  9. Confers with customers and interfaces with Bank personnel to resolve issues.

  10. Collects payments on accounts when appropriate.

  11. Provides effective leadership and coaching on structuring appropriate credits which meet Bank guidelines.

  12. Supports Bank compliance efforts by completing compliance and other technical training workshops as assigned, and ensuring that staff members attend/complete compliance training in a timely manner. Reads periodicals and attends external webinars/workshops to maintain an above average expertise of the trends in banking products, various delivery channels, regulatory, operational and compliance matters.

Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and complies with all State and Federal Banking Regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Customers Right to Privacy Act, Regulation D, Regulation DD/Truth in Savings, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, CIP, Financial Elder Abuse, Sexual Harassment and Information Security & Privacy, as well as employment law and wage and hour regulations as they pertain to this position. This position will elevate suspicious activity to supervisory staff.
  2. Ensures that the identification of Suspicious Activity or ID theft-related issues are appropriately reported, and that CTR preparation and/or the completion of all other required BSA/Compliance forms are prepared timely and accurately.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises a team of two or more Business Development Officers within assigned territory. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's polices and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing workflow; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolves problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a fouryear college or university; seven or more year's related selling and credit experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret financial and credit documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as analyze financial statements. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportion and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic accounting and financial analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret financial and accounting data and manage several abstract and concrete variables at one time.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Possess good organizational skills and flexibility to allow for coordination and prioritization of workload. Ability to perform other duties as requested.

This position requires a valid California Driver's License, evidence of good driving record and proof of auto insurance.

Salary Range:$104,061.00 To $150,888.00 Annually
