zyBooks is looking for a Software Engineer to maintain, develop, and own highly scalable and configurable software systems and services. You will use modern web and server-side programming languages, cloud services, CI/CD solutions, and SQL/NoSQL databases in a dynamic professional software development environment that promotes initiative and innovation. The role is focused on supporting our labs and content tools team that builds web-based, real-time, interactive programming environments used by hundreds of thousands of students. zyBooks is a fast-growing market leader in STEM education, used by over 1800 academic institutions every year - come join us and help transform education!

Requirements:

  • Develop high-quality, scalable enterprise applications using Angular or React, applying modern front-end engineering best practices.
  • Strong proficiency with the latest web standards, including HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript.
  • Translate wireframes and design documents into fully functional features.
  • Design and implement UI components with a focus on reusability, scalability, extensibility, supportability, and accessibility.
  • Solid experience with foundational web technologies such as Responsive Design, JSON, REST APIs, and WebSockets.
  • Expertise in developing highly concurrent, scalable, and configurable software applications using the Go programming language.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles, infrastructure, and CI/CD tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of database technologies, including MySQL and Firebase Realtime Database.
  • Ability to integrate applications with existing company tools and systems.
  • Experience in implementing distributed systems and building cloud-native applications.

The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the UK, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
