Risk Principal Associate, Card Technology Audit

As a Technology Risk Associate, you will drive strategy and execute on high priority projects for the company in the Card Technology Risk area. The successful candidate will be an experienced risk management professional who understands technology functions and organizations, with strong analytical, planning, strategic thinking, organizational and communication skills. You will work with smart and passionate people to deliver results that have a direct impact on the company's bottom line. You will take on important and exciting responsibility from day one, working with key stakeholders across the company. Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary Risk Execution Lead for domains supporting Card Technology Audit engagements and respective software engineering teams to propel technology risk agenda and guide the Leadership Team and project stakeholders to make informed decisions.

  • Build successful relationships across Card Tech, Business Risk Offices and Enterprise Risk teams to understand & drive technology risk across critical business processes in support of Card Technology Audit, Issue Management & Reporting functions.

  • Ensure projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered on time

  • Leveraging problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent

  • Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

  • Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

  • Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.

  • Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or military experience

  • At least 1 year of Financial Services Risk Management Experience

  • At least 2 years of Project Management experience

  • At least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of Technology Risk Management Execution Experience (Tech & Cyber Controls Management, Issues Management, Technology Reporting and Audit / Examinations is a plus)

  • 1+ years experience with Risk Management frameworks, ITGC, Cloud Governance

  • 7+ years of Project Management experience

  • 7+ years of communication and collaboration skills

  • 7+ years of problem solving and influencing skills

  • 7+ years of work experience achieving results with complex projects

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 for Principal Risk Specialist Richmond, VA: $106,700 - $121,700 for Principal Risk Specialist

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
