Primary Function of Organizational Unit
East Carolina University is a public doctoral/research university in Greenville, North Carolina, with an enrollment of nearly 27,000 students. It is one of the largest universities in North Carolina. ECU offers 87 bachelor's degree programs, 69 master's degree programs, 13 research doctoral degrees, 5 professional doctoral degrees, the Brody School of Medicine and School of Dental Medicine.
The School of Music, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication, has an enrollment of over 250 music majors and minors with over 50 faculty and staff. The school is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.
Job Duties
The School of Music at East Carolina University is seeking applications for a temporary, fixed-term, part-time faculty position available August 2025. Primary responsibilities will be to teach, recruit, and maintain an undergraduate and graduate tuba studio of no more than 14 students.

Salary is inclusive of studio class, juries, and determined by the number of applied students (up to 14) in the studio. Current rate of pay is $1350 per student (14 one-hour lessons per student) per semester.
Minimum Education/Experience
Master's degree appropriate to field required. Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Doctorate preferred. Prior university or college teaching and professional performing experience is desirable.
