What you'll be doing...

The Artificial Intelligence & Data (AI&D) Organization is an exciting center of excellence supporting all of Verizon. Our team will be a catalyst to Verizon's future in creating networks that move the world forward through the power of Artificial Intelligence & Data.

You will manage an Application Development team and projects to drive the digital transformation of Network Management Centers for Service Assurance in the area of workflow to include automation, network self-healing, closed loop assurance, and task management. You will provide thought leadership, strategy and direction to the business and team to automate existing functions and improve customer service levels. You will use technology expertise with data analytics to develop solutions.

  • Leading a strong team of software engineers, developers and testers.

  • Demonstrating strong team leadership skills and experience working with cross-functional teams across various work groups.

  • Utilizing your exceptional and effective communication skills (both written and verbal) to lead calls with technical teams or give a presentation or update to executives.

  • Applying your experience in application development, systems engineering and IT management.

  • Managing schedules, being accountable and delivering projects on time in a fast paced agile environment.

  • Contributing technically and own architectural oversight of system/services.

  • Building a culture focused on speed and agility, avoiding silos and focusing outward on the customer.

  • Aligning technology to business strategy, and proactively driving a technical direction throughout the organization.

  • Driving results within budget, time and quality.

What we're looking for...

You can visualize the big picture strategy, but can also break it down into the components to get the job done. You believe that the best decisions are based on data and you're the one that knows how to tease out the key learnings through troubleshooting systems. You have credibility with people because you are a specialist in all things data but you also know how to bring it down to the level that your audience can understand-that's practical and will help the business improve. And you're an effective and inspiring leader who brings out the best in others.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience leading systems delivery for telecom or Network Management with domain knowledge of telecom operations and terminology.

  • Experience in managing an onshore-offshore delivery model.

  • Experience with enterprise application development, large databases, reporting systems, data analytics, web based applications for both desktop and mobile applications, web services, high volume transactional systems, performance tuning of databases and applications.

  • Experience migrating applications to Cloud.

  • Experience using DevOps tool set such as Jira, Jenkins, Confluence, Nunit, Junit, Selenium.

  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

  • Knowledge of predictive and prescriptive analytics.

Even better if you have:

  • Led a team, with software engineers and architects.

  • Knowledge in the area of workflow automation and task management.

  • Knowledge in software development, systems engineering and IT.

  • Experience developing and supporting high availability systems and disaster recovery.

  • Experience with developing using .NET, Java and other high level languages on both intel and Unix environments.

  • Experience with designing user interfaces for mobile and desktop applications that provide a responsive and simple experience to users.

  • Experienced with AI and Machine Learning.

  • Experienced with Mobility applications.

  • Knowledge of self-serve analytic tools for business users.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $130,000.00 and $242,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
