This role is responsible for developing processes, tooling, and methods of improvement for the plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engineering:

  • New product review, development and start up
  • Technical support for manufacturing operations including training
  • Confer with vendors to determine product specification and prices
  • Cost new products, equipment and proposed process modifications
  • Confer with key personnel regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes and new products
  • Assist customers and Tech Support with product application and trouble shooting
  • Assist in maintenance of bills of material and associated data bases
  • Review processes for cost reductions
  • Minor fixture and tool design
  • Six Sigma project sponsor


Quality:

  • Supervise and manage quality personnel and activities
  • Adhere to plant Safety Program and policies
  • Maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment
  • Understand and actively participate in Haldex Way activities
  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Manufacturing Engineer degree or related technical degree with practical work experience
  • Must have good mechanical skills
  • Blueprint reading including Geometric dimension and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Some CAD experience a plus

  • Must be able to work the required shift hours and any overtime as required
  • Must be able to lift thirty to ninety pounds occasionally over a regularly scheduled work day
  • Must be able to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time and to have physical mobility throughout the facility
  • Must be able to bend over, grasp, push and pull heavy loads as required
  • Must be able to use pneumatic tools, hand tools and various other machines such as electronic tests, manual testers, vices, presses, etc. as required
  • Must have the ability to work under stress due to schedules and deadlines
