Description

General Summary:

To provide CMM operation and programming support on critical aerospace components which meet company and customer expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Identify product for CMM inspection
  • Develop/Write part inspection programs for CMM
  • Organize and control CMM inspection programs
  • Troubleshoots product issues and supports manufacturing.
  • Train inspection personnel on CMM operation
  • Oversee dimensional inspection on CMM
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements
  • Professionally interacts with colleagues from Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing.
  • Perform validation activities related to CMM inspection programs.
  • Perform CMM inspection on critical aerospace components.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:



  • Provide coaching, support, and direction to members of a work team
  • Promote positive employee relations through effective conflict management and issue resolution.
  • Provide performance feedback via appraisals.
  • Aid Management in addressing performance/discipline issues as necessary.
  • Effectively track and report manufacturing process performance.
  • Communicates/interacts with the Customer
  • 5 years' experience in the programming, operation and full utilization of CMM equipment. Experience with Modus and Camio preferred.
  • Possess the ability and necessary skills to both inspect products and train QC personnel in the operation of CMMs.
  • Possess the ability to both evaluate and recommend CMM hardware and software improvements, to improve performance and/or utilization, in a cost-effective approach.
  • Effective communicator; possess strong verbal and written communication skills - must be able to directly interface with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and suppliers in CMM related issues as they may arise.
  • Strong organizational skills.



Position Requirements

Working Conditions:

  • Light industrial work setting.
  • Job involves lifting up to 50lbs. in a manufacturing environment that may occasionally require the associate to work in a number of awkward positions.

Education & Experience Required:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • ASQ certification as a Certified Mechanical Inspector or Certified Quality Technician is a plus.
  • Technical/shop math, blueprint reading (including GD&T).
  • CMM set-up, layout inspection, gage calibration,
  • SPC and problem solving knowledge.
  • Proficient computer skills are required (Excel, Word, PCDMIS)
