The Department of Cell Biology, at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, is seeking a Lab Specialist Senior to work in Dr. Elias Spiliotis's laboratory (spiliotislab.org). Lab Specialist Senior employees assist in the administration and coordination of technical activities of the research lab, including the management of lab projects, staff and budgets. They act as specialists on designing research methodologies, establishing quality standards and performance metrics, and analyzing data. They ensure that standard operating procedures and protocols are maintained and applied. They may co-author publications and co-present results with the PI. Job Duties

Physical Demands This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring finer finger manipulation.
