Role and Responsibilities:


The Lead Floor Technician ensures floors and baseboards are maintained to provide a safe and hazard-free environment.



  • Support, train, and help lead a team that primarily consist of adults with disabilities.

  • Operate floor care machinery (buffers, scrubbers).

  • Perform cleaning tasks including:

    • Dusting

    • Mopping

    • Refinishing



  • Carry out regular floor care activities such as:

    • Stripping

    • Scrubbing

    • Buffing

    • Sealing

    • Carpet extraction and cleaning using approved methods and chemicals.



  • Address and clean carpet stains as needed.

  • Secure work areas with safety barricades, report defective equipment, and transport broken items for repair.

  • Maintain inventory, manage parts, and perform equipment maintenance and repairs.

  • Introduce yourself to customers, provide safety instructions, and ensure the area is left clean and safe.

  • Work with the supervisor to prioritize tasks, handle assignments, and contribute to team efforts.

  • Assist with supply deliveries and storage.

  • Follow safety procedures by reading and understanding chemical labels.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of (1) year experience Janitorial or Custodian experience.

  • Minimum of (1) year experience in commercial floor care (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Must have a valid driver license.


Preferred Skills:



  • Ability to lead and supervise a team of floor care technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.

  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines while ensuring quality floor care across large areas.

  • Ability to diagnose and address floor care equipment malfunctions or challenges quickly and effectively.

  • High attention to detail to ensure floors are properly cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively train team members, report issues, and interact with clients or supervisors.
