Technical Sales Representative

POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Sales Representative is a dynamic and knowledgeable representative of the Network Services product portfolio to the marketplace. This role requires a technical-savvy sales professional who can assess client needs, recommend and document tailored solutions, and effectively communicate with both executive and technical leadership at credit unions.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator in both oral and written domains with a strong grasp of networking, security, and computing concepts. They will collaborate with internal teams to draft proposals, conduct pre-site inspections for CU*BASE, and ensure successful project execution. Frequent travel will be required to engage with clients and prospects directly.

Essential Job Functions

1. Perform comprehensive needs analysis at client sites and create detailed written reports documenting job requirements and recommended solutions.

2. Demonstrate expertise in networking and computing concepts, including networks, routers, switches, firewalls, security solutions, endpoint security software, PCs, and printers.

3. Conduct CU*BASE pre-site inspections, ensuring compatibility with supported hardware and software.

4. Clearly communicate technical solutions to credit union executives and IT teams, ensuring alignment with their business goals.

5. Collaborate with the Internal Sales team to develop proposals that outline success criteria and required resources for recommended solutions.

6. Serve as the primary point of contact for sales opportunities within CU*Answers Network Services.

7. Work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate project implementation and ensure client satisfaction.

8. Participate in client project kickoff and wrap-up meetings, ensuring that solutions meet expectations and deliver value.

9. Participate in revenue forecasting for budgeting purposes.

10. Provide regular sales pipeline reporting and forecasting to executive management.

11. Lead client annual technical planning and budgeting sessions and guide them through upcoming hardware/software refreshes and upgrades. Assist clients in setting their annual technology budgets.

Job qualifications

1. High School graduate or equivalent is required.

2. Demonstrable understanding of Complete Care products.

3. 2+ years of experience in a related IT or technical sales role.

4. Strong understanding of networking and security concepts.

5. Familiarity with CU*BASE and its technical requirements.

6. Ability to assess client environments and recommend appropriate hardware/software solutions.

7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

8. Outgoing, friendly personality with strong relationship-building skills.

9. Ability and willingness to travel frequently.

10. Ability to provide leadership for CU*Answers technical sales processes.

11. Ability to use discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential data.

12. Ability to create technical product documentation for hardware/software installations.
