The University of Iowa College of Law is seeking individuals on a temporary basis to proctor College of Law final exams. The exam period is May 5-16, 2025. Each exam may require up to a 5-hour time commitment starting at 7:30 am on exam dates. We are also looking for proctors who would be interested in extended hours to manage multiple private testing rooms. Schedules will be arranged based upon need and availability, so flexibility is a must. A training session will be held during April. Parking passes will be provided at no cost during the spring session. Job Duties Proctors assist in preparing the room for administration of the exam, assist with the distribution of exams, oversee and monitor the room during the exam, and accurately collect exams upon completion. Proctors also coordinate with IT staff to troubleshoot computer issues students may experience during the exam. Proctors may act as a runner to the main exam administrator if emergencies occur. Qualifications Required: * Ability to follow directions and work with a team as well as independently * Excellent verbal communication skills * A positive and respectful attitude in working with a diverse population * The ability to carry up to 10 pounds while moving about a classroom and on stairs * A flexible schedule during the two-week exam period * A strong presence and ability to manage large groups of people Desired: * Previous teaching or classroom management experience Wage $20.00 per hour for assisting in a main classroom $23.00 per hour for proctoring SDS-accommodated students |
