The Director, Digital Business Development and Operations will be responsible for digital business development with strategic golf industry partners, and overall administration and operations of the digital business with the General Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

Create a partnership framework and collateral for licensing and strategic golf platform partners that can scale across many types of partnerships, particularly in support of PGA's digital media business and coaching and golf operations.

Manage the pipeline/backlog of PGA Digital business partners, regularly holding status meetings on priority, and documenting and knowing the status of ongoing discussions, while leading many of the negotiations.

Oversee the implementation of partner obligations and work across matrix teams to ensure those are delivered.

Build appropriate processes to align business development activities to post-deal execution with the account management team, such as regular status meetings, quarterly or annual summits.

Create and maintain excellent relationships within the golf industry digital ecosystem.

Monitor the digital golf ecosystem and identify trends that could lead to revenue generation opportunities for PGA Digital.

In close cooperation with the PGA Digital Leadership team, oversee digital strategy efforts, inclusive of new business initiatives, adjustments to an existing strategy, or reactions/changes to outside factors in the golf industry.

Oversee consumer growth strategies in support of platform growth, partnership sales and digital marketing.

Assist the GM in overseeing the annual budget and financial processes and reporting in Workday.

Lead executive updates and informational efforts with the PGA Board of Directors.

Develop a cultural style to communicate and implement strategy amongst the Digital team and its partner teams.

Champion our culture with leading by example in documentation practices, meeting cadences, communication styles, personal relationship development, and more.

Apply a project management toolset to our cross-functional projects that span many teams, workstreams and deadlines.

Act as a business liaison with the rest of the PGA Digital team on contract development, financial decisions, and new vendors or suppliers.

Must be naturally curious and able to ask questions, figure out problems, and apply/defend/adjust solutions.

Oversee the relationship with PGA's legal team as it pertains to contractual risks and liability, and the overall digital business strategy, such as data compliance, ADA and other evolving regulations.

Be a steward of team culture within PGA Digital by providing ad hoc mentorship to team members, managing quarterly meetings with the General Manager, and initiating other ideas that improve team connectivity.

SUPERVISION:

This is a supervisory position responsible for the performance management and hiring of employees within the department.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for preparation and oversight of the Department budget and for monitoring results.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Business, MIS, Digital, Marketing or related field. Masters' Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Seven years of experience in digital media and business development

Four years team management experience.

Understanding of the ADM model for golf and the Coaching & Player Development principles of the PGA of America.

Data and legal compliance experience is a plus.

Well versed in the golf industry, major technology and platforms, and familiarity with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and inner workings of their relationship within the sport, particularly the PGA of America, its Members and its Sections.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Must have superior leadership qualities in personnel management, cross-team collaboration, goal setting and strategy development, project management, and be a key individual in client-facing golf industry relationships. Must possess gravitas with excellent communication skills and the ability to present in a dynamic and persuasive manner to senior stakeholders and team members. Must have a knowledge of and a true passion for digital media, building, creativity and partner/sponsor mechanics. Ability to champion the art of collaboration and be well versed communicating internally and externally as a subject matter expert. Ability to understand how products and content can attract, engage, and monetize an audience is imperative. Must be fluent in Workday and G Suite products, most importantly Google Sheets, Presentations, Docs, and at least a study of Google's other media products (analytics, search console, Ad Manager and others).
