Overview

The Material Control Specialist manages all raw material and finished goods to support the lab operations. Coordinates inventory activities with manufacturing, purchasing, and accounting to minimize waste and maximize production. This is a full time position onsite at our Salt Lake City location.

Responsibility

  1. Analyze, investigate, and correct inventory discrepancies.
  2. Conduct cycle counts, transact cycle count quantities, and identify root causes of variances and corrective actions to be taken.
  3. Assist with the preparation for all physical inventories.
  4. Label and store materials appropriately.
  5. Maintain temperature storage requirements.
  6. Implement improvements to the physical inventory process.
  7. Input data entry into system to maintain up-to-date and accurate information for all materials used in the laboratory manufacturing process.
  8. Receive and transact materials in conjunction with purchase orders and requisitions.

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or GED equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  2. 2+ years vendor experience in a cost control capacity preferred.
  3. Experience in supply chain management or inventory control.
  4. Desire to work in a fast paced environment with quick changing priorities.
  5. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Technical writing skills a plus.
  7. Knowledgeable computer skills, Oracle inventory software knowledge preferred.
  8. Excel proficiency preferred.


Physical Requirements

Lifting Requirements - medium work or exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 prpounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force consistently. Physical Requirements - stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, reaching, and repetitive motion. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions. Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions - exposure to fumes, dust, extreme temperatures, wet and/or humid, noise, vibration, mists or gases, mechanical hazards, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, and radiant energy hazards. OSHA Category I - duties performed routinely requires exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
