Overview:

Veeco is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Horsham, PA team. At this location, we design, develop, build and ship semiconductor process equipment. This equipment enables much of the technology you see around you today like sensors for autonomous vehicles and critical elements of emerging 5G technologies. You will handle important aspects of manufacturing for both existing products as well as providing support on new product introduction from start to finish ensuring that the design for manufacturing and quality meets best-in-class requirements.

This is a 100% onsite position.

Responsibilities:



  • Participate and sustain the plant-wide implementation of the 6S program, driving enhancements in safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle manufacturing challenges, resolve issues, and implement lasting solutions
  • Develop and implement method instructions to enhance process consistency and efficiency. Provide necessary training to the technicians ensuring sustainability.
  • Proactively analyze quality and manufacturing data to drive improvement projects targeting root cause elimination of product quality issues.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by championing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, leading Kaizen events, and waste elimination projects to achieve measurable results.
  • Actively participate in designing and developing tooling and fixtures to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluate new process technologies, proposes, and implements measures to boost productivity, quality, and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate effectively with suppliers and contract manufacturers to resolve process or quality discrepancies, nurturing strong partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, utilizing 'shift-left' strategies to improve quality, achieve cost savings, and shorter lead times.
  • Lead strategic sourcing projects to optimize resource allocation.



Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field with a minimum of 2 years of related experience or a Master's degree in an Engineering field with no experience is required.Must be well-versed in manufacturing methods, with familiarity in mechanical assembly, fixture design, and machining processes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Capable of managing tight deadlines, multiple projects, and quick changes in priorities.
  • Possesses direct, hands-on experience in designing tooling and fixtures to enhance the manufacturing process.
  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems for manufacturing, with expertise in BOM, routing, and material planning.
  • Capable of effectively communicating with employees at all levels, offering viable business solutions.
  • Adept at comprehending complex mechanical and electrical issues and identifying their interconnections.
  • Experience in a highly technical production assembly environment, with additional project management experience is a plus.
  • Experience in 3D Modeling using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Projects, etc.) is required.
  • Possesses good judgment and problem-solving skills.



The expected salary range for this position is $69,937 - $88,587, plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
