Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health, is a 182-bed treatment facility, conveniently located in beautiful Oakland Park, FL that specializes in the successful treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues for youth, adults, and seniors. Our progressive team members in the fields of psychiatry, medicine, nursing, social services, education, and activity therapy are all committed to provide compassionate, comprehensive care that uniquely fits the intensity and severity of each patient's needs. We offer a continuum of mental health and addiction services through an integrated system of inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and ECT programs. Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training:

  • High School graduate or GED required
  • A two year technical or trade school/technical coursework or Associate's degree preferred
  • CFC Handling Certification is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of three years' work experience in hospital and/or healthcare facility
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Computer literate including functional knowledge of MS Office

Experience:

  • Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment ensuring proper safety precautions. Must have an understanding of electrical and refrigeration theory, as well as experience in the area of building maintenance and mechanical engineering; including but not limited to painting, basic carpentry, repairing drywall holes.
  • Experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and complete routine maintenance with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, life safety and building automation
  • Have working knowledge of standard maintenance tools and experience in their proper use
  • Ability to understand and interpret manufacturer's specifications and written operational procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure teamwork and positive relations with patients, guests, and co-workers
  • Be able to take direction and follow instructions
  • Must be safety conscious
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion
  • Ability to respond to emergent maintenance situations.
  • Ability to multi-task in a loud and busy environment.
  • Ability to meet facility and corporate deadlines
  • Knowledge of the handling of hazardous or toxic substances
  • 24-hour availability for emergencies and as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Capable of doing extensive walking, climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds by applying proper body mechanics.
  • Willingness to work on special projects as required.
  • Sensitive and aware of diverse cultures and their practices.
  • Computer literate including functional knowledge of MS Office
