About the role:

The Database Administrator II in the Cardiac Diagnostics division will be responsible for the design, performance, integrity and security of a database management system.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases.
  • Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
  • Reviews database design and integration of systems, ensures backup recoverability and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
  • Maintains security and integrity controls.
  • Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
  • May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
  • Provides capacity planning for server resources, including disk space, based on monitoring of system utilization and growth.
  • Automate through scripting where possible.
  • Installs and tests new versions of the database management system (DBMS).



Required qualifications:



  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with MS SQL, CosmosDB, and similar databases.
  • Strong understanding of HA & DR setup for MS SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL and SQL Server configuration.
  • Understanding of fundamental system design principles behind a scalable database.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design.

Maximum Salary: $132000

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
