The Engineering Intern is responsible for working as a team member to support the development of laser systems. The successful candidate must have the ability to learn new skills quickly and follow established company practices.

Position Requirements:



  • Must be enrolled in an engineering degree program, preferred disciplines:

    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Materials Science / Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Manufacturing Engineering


  • Based on engineering degree program:


    • Knowledge of basic engineering principles and practices
    • Familiarity with QC tools, engineering data and statistical analysis
    • Familiarity with remote control of scientific instruments
    • Experience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Visio)



Job Functions:



  • Experience semiconductor laser packaging and laser testing equipment, real manufacturing in real time
  • Participate in hardware/equipment/driver/controller installation for a new R&D station, your personal project
  • Support engineers in the areas of improving and upgrading automated manufacturing stations, laser test procedures and equipment
  • Analyze performance statistics and provide feedback for manufacturing step optimization
  • Support production engineers in troubleshooting hardware/software issues
  • Qualify manufacturing processes through yield, performance, repeatability studies
