ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated VP of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our growing organization. We have a unique opportunity that calls for an ambitious, hard-working, highly analytical Finance professional who will lead this team, running FP&A as well as business finance support. This highly visible role includes frequent interaction with the Executive Leadership Team, CFO, and being a leader in the Finance team. The VP, FP&A will lead the analysis, preparation, and presentation of key business drivers and financial results to be used by the CEO, CFO, and Executive Team. In addition, the role will focus on long term value creation working with the CEO, CFO and Business Development leader on organic growth strategies, M&A, business partnerships and finance strategy to drive shareholder value. This role will also play a key role in the successful integration of recent acquisitions, and managing performance against acquisition targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead annual and long-term planning cycle for the business; establish timeline, assumptions and investment framework in partnership with CFO and senior leaders.
  • Serve as a financial partner to the Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, in day-to-day business operations to meet annual plans. Partner to develop solutions and options for different potential business scenarios. As part of doing this, the individual must have a keen interest and understanding of several aspects of the business with a drive for continual learning.
  • Lead monthly financial reporting for the business to support monthly operating review discussions with management. Enhance the metrics-based approach to explaining key business drivers that also creates action-oriented insights for the team.
  • Evaluate current planning and reporting tools and establish a roadmap for the planning and reporting systems landscape in alignment with evolution and growth of the business.
  • Key member of acquisition integration team, responsible for measuring performance against deal models and tracking synergies.
  • Work with Senior Leaders and CFO on creating shareholder value with organic growth strategies, strategic M&A, business partnerships and finance strategy.
  • Collaborate with the investor relations leader on communicating the company's performance externally, including developing investor decks and an Investor Day, if applicable.
  • Enhance communication and collaboration across finance function; lead high-performing team of approximately 10 people with a focus on talent development and continuous improvement.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors of Business Administration degree OR MBA
  • Strong customer focus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment
  • Advanced level of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint required
  • Life sciences experience


EXPECTATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES:


  • Drives profitable growth by analyzing results and advising senior management on insights and recommended actions
  • Deep experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis, including knowledge of FP&A tools and evolving technology
  • Demonstrated success adding value through M&A, partnerships or finance strategy.
  • Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple partners
  • Proven expertise in modeling techniques and managing large data sets
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a "peer" with leadership team and functional leaders
  • Team oriented, collaborative, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
  • Experience leading teams; commitment to continuous training and improvement of employees throughout the finance function
