Principal Solutions Architect

Mascoma Bank is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to join our subsidiary, Mascoma Technologies. This person must have extensive knowledge of software development practices and banking practices, and will use that knowledge and experience to create functional, elegant, and maintainable solutions to complex technical challenges. The solutions developed and/or architected by the Principal Solutions Architect, in collaboration with product managers and other internal stakeholders, will enable Mascoma Technologies to meet rapidly growing business needs and maintain a technical competitive advantage in the financial industry. The Principal Solutions Architect will take direction from the Director of Software Engineering and may at times be relied upon to provide insight and mentorship to more junior team members.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience with software development and architecture in an enterprise environment. This person must have expert knowledge in software development concepts and understand how design decisions may impact performance, security, scalability, and maintainability of a system. Python experience is a must. AWS Solutions Architect certification preferred. This position requires adaptability, a passion for learning new things, and the ability to apply gained knowledge to create better products. This person will interact with business stakeholders and IT team members, so the ability to communicate effectively with a broad variety of people is crucial to success. Confidentiality and privacy of customer information is a must!
