Senior SQL DBA -Remote

Preferred Qualification
9+ years of strong SQL DBA experience. Minimum 8 years work experience in managing and administering large databases.

Strong knowledge in SQL Server database design and administration activities

Expertise in handling backups, restores and recovery models
5 years of experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server

Experience and expertise in installation, setup, and configuration of SQL Server 2017 and up.

Hands-on experience performing SQL Server patching and database upgrades.

Hands-on experience configuring and tuning SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS processes.

Solid knowledge of OLTP and data warehouse architecture, data modeling and design

Monitor system's health and performance
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security of all SQL server databases

Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes

Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems

Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours

Great interpersonal and communication skills
Microsoft SQL certifications a plus

Strong Experience with Implementation and support of multiple MS SQL databases
Expertise and strong knowledge in handling all backup and restore issues

Experience in Practical experience with the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of SQL Server 2017 and up

Job responsibilities

Experience with Azure SQL DBA and Azure Cloud migration
Experience with MS SQL with Always ON Availability Groups

working experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server databases

experience with SQL Management Studio, SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server Reporting Services, and Integration Services

Responsible for application-oriented database administration and technical support for the various environments.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is [$73,350 to $116,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
