PURPOSE/SCOPE:

The Director Commercial Sales plays a crucial role in driving the sales strategy and revenue growth of the Commercial Sales team through effective leadership of 60+ field sales employees. This key leader is accountable for delivering on revenue goals, expanding market presence, and fostering strong customer relationships across North America.




ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:



  • Direct profitable growth in local distribution, national distribution and commercial Strategic accounts.
  • Manage P&L
  • Navigate channel conflict by responding quickly to issues, finding common ground, getting cooperation, and settling disputes fairly and equitably.
  • Leadsalespractices with a standardized organizational approach, manage local distribution strategy with corporate guidance
  • Identify and effectively communicate product development and market opportunities
  • Personally develop A-players and ensure continuous employee development and performance improvement through coaching
  • Improvesalescoverage and efficiency within his/her geography
  • Bring a disciplinedsalesstructure to the organization, approaching situations with a general management perspective and a P&L mindset
  • Work to improve overall levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaboratively work withService leadership to maximize utilization of Tennant Service solutions within geography
  • Define training and development objectives and coordinate with other departments (Marketing,salesOperations and Human Resources) to develop and implement training programs.
  • Maintains a broad overview of the markets/channelsin which we compete and how we differentiate ourselves from the competition.
  • Prudently manages budgets and expenses and takes appropriate risks that result in high returns.
  • Develops and leads a team that is high performing, engaged and contributes to the goals and strategies of the organization.
  • Continually develops direct reports through a combination of coaching, mentoring and regular performance appraisals.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • The ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree. An advanced degree will be considered a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in selling and managing in a product/service environment.
  • Minimum of 10 years business experience, which include at minimum of 10 years in asalesrole and 5years in asalesleadership/management role.
  • Ability to recruit and retain quality individuals and build a successfulsalesteam.
  • A proven leader, with excellent management skills, who excels at building and leading teams, as well as being an integral part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate and execute a go-to-market plan in line with the vision of the company.
  • Capable of formulating strategy and making sound, long-term decisions, but with a real energy for the day-to-day execution of that strategy.
  • Knowledge and experience in driving transformational change.

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $120,000 - 180,000 Annualized (+$60,873 annual target incentive)

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Sales and Service Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
