The Mortgage Loan Processor works under direct supervisor instruction and pre-established guidelines, timely accumulation of supplied information and documentation necessary to submit the loan files for underwriting/closing/funding to meet budgeted goals for quality loan production and perform the functions of the job.

As a Mortgage Loan Processor, you will:

  • Assist retail bankers in screening customer loan applications to determine loan eligibility by compiling personal financial data daily. Log in required initial loan documents and review for compliance, discrepancies, and omitted data and follow up for resolution by verifying with the application to meet Nicolet Bank and Investor guidelines. This includes adhering to producing all compliance related disclosures in a timely manner.
  • Ensure quality assets by obtaining and auditing all required information and documents from retail bankers and other sources to prepare the loan file for underwriting/closing, e.g. appraisal, inspections, verifications, AUS findings, flood, etc. Ensure sound assets via the utilization of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Automated Underwriting System (AUS). Possess the skills to correctly interpret the findings and conditions for proper loan documentation to satisfy the loan.
  • Ensure quality asset and sound loan file by adhering to all GSE guidelines (FNMA/FHLMC) and investor guideline overlays. Responsible for maintaining up to date adherence to all guidelines via investor/GSE notifications from underwriting, attend webinars by investor or MI Companies.
  • Produce timely and accurate early disclosures and sending to the borrower to ensure TRID guidelines are met.
  • Maintain coordinated organization for timely delivery of accurate loan file to underwriting/closing specialist to meet customer expectations and investor rate lock delivery expirations.
  • Clear, concise communication with the retail bankers for additional supporting data for file submission in a timely manner to meet customer expectations and investor rate lock deadlines.
  • Ensure quality assets by obtaining prior to closing verbal phone verifications, third-party verifications on self-employed, updated homeowner's/flood insurance, payoffs, subordinations, etc. needed to have a clear to close loan.
  • Assist closing/post-closing specialist with timely clearing of pended file documentation to ensure profitability of loan file.
  • Uphold Nicolet's philosophy and policies by maintaining appropriate controls to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, thereby fulfilling legal responsibilities and enhancing the quality of services provided by Nicolet.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED/ associate degree in administration or finance-Related field of study
  • 1-3 years mortgage processing/ 3+ years mortgage processing or underwriting experience.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage loan products and services.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful with strong research skills.
