Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as a Lead Software Engineer to work out of Kirtland AFB, NM.

Essential Duties:



  • Leads the design, development, documentation, testing and debugging of application software.
  • Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
  • Ensures software standards are met.
  • Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness. Apply and/or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts.
  • Participates with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives.
  • Plans R&D programs and recommends technological application programs to accomplish long-range objectives.
  • Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to development of new principles and concepts
  • Recommends/makes decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives.


Required Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering related to DoD & major space systems/programs with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience with SW such as Java, Python, C++, or other Object Oriented based languages, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure Cloud, Etc.


Education/ Certification:



  • Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), Information Technology, computer science or similar from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Professional software certifications or similar, as well as demonstration of continued education
