Job Title SkillBridge Internship: Systems Design/Mission Data Engineer Location Florida - Eglin Air Force Base - Eglin AFB, FL 32542 US (Primary) Job Description Torch Technologies is seeking a Systems Design/Mission Data Engineer (entry level)to join a teamto assist the 36thElectronic Warfare Squadron (EWS), 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing (350 SWW), at Eglin AFB, Florida. The 350 SWW is the technical focal point for all electronic warfare (EW) support of warfighter systems for the Combat Air Forces (CAF). The mission of the 350 SWW is to develop and test mission data (MD) to defeat enemy radar and infrared guided missile systems, thus enhancing aircrew and aircraft survivability in combat. This mission includes operational EW testing, MD development/validation/verification, force development evaluation execution and facilitating foreign materiel exploitation. This position is offered through the DoD SkillBridge Program. The Torch TechnologiesDoD SkillBridge Program is open to all ranks, enlisted or officer. We are proud to help our nation's service members make the transition from active duty to civilian life through specific industry training during the end of their service, up to 180 days.Service members will continue to receive military compensation and benefits through the Department of Defense. Upon completing the program, we aim to bring on every service member as a full-time employee. Responsibilities: This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience to include the following: Conduct appropriate EW research, MD development and MD testing. Support EW system programming/reprogramming, work with EW system engineers to coordinate programming/reprogramming requirements, prepare validation and verification test plans, and organize and participate in MD configuration control boards. Assist with the collection, recording, and post-test analysis of data generated during MD testing. May be required to travel, both domestic and international, so possessing a US passport or having an ability to obtain one is required. Job Requirements DoD SkillBridge Eligibility: Currently an active-duty service member Is within 2-4 months of separation or retirement. Will receive an honorable discharge. Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months. Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to the start of the internship; some bases may require an MOU, an MOU should be completed between the base and Torch as required. Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications as per DODI 1322.29. Required Qualifications: Candidates must have at least an Associate's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Candidates must have the potential ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations. Applicants must have a working knowledge of computer systems and an understanding of Windows-based personal computers and Microsoft Office software and possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. The candidate must be a US Citizen, and have the character and background to obtain a Secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelors' degree in a technical/engineering discipline is preferred. Also preferred (but not required) is knowledge of EW weapons systems development, test and evaluation, and systems engineering. Highly desirable (but not required) attributes include a current active Secret security clearance and previous experience in RF integration, EM spectrum management, antenna design, and digital signal processing. Candidates without an active Secret security clearance must be a US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
