The Department of Statistics and Actuarial Sciences at the University of Iowa invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor.The teaching assignment for Spring 2026 semester for this position will be one section of Introductory Seminar on Actuarial Science. This course is an introduction to actuarial science, U.S. actuarial organizations and the actuarial qualification process; program requirements and tips for academic success; career center, actuarial club, and internships; actuarial careers; ethics; communication; and introduction to actuarial computing.

Education: Applicants must have completed the requirements for a PhD in a relevant scientific field prior to their proposed start date.

The appointment will pay $4,780 per course taught, commensurate with experience.
