TITLE Hourly Intern II
HOURLY RATE $20 per hour LOCATION New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology. Birth Defects Research Section, Empire State Plaza, Corning Tower, 12th Floor MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates must be either an MPH or an MS Epidemiology student at SUNY Albany's School of Public Health; AND must have completed at least 24 credits of coursework toward their degree including at least four of the core courses; AND must have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or better AND are unable to participate in an internship if on academic probation. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: We are interested in Epidemiology or Biostatistics students who have basic SAS skills. Required coursework includes EPI 514. The student should have a demonstrated interest in maternal and child health. Prior experience with data analysis is preferrable. RESPONSIBILITIES The intern will assist with four main tasks as part of the Birth Defects Research Section at NYSDOH:
DETAILS OF EMPLOYMENT Part-time position: 20 hours/week or 40 hours/week for total of 12 weeks over the course of the summer. Hourly intern, grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting may not be available. If telecommuting is available, the incumbent will be required to have a telephone/mobile device, and internet access.
