What you'll do

The Corporate Accounting Manager owns the development and monitoring of the indirect rates to ensure the accurate and timely closing of the financial books. This responsibility includes preparing Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRPs) and the annual Incurred Cost Submission (ICS) for the organization. This role will partner with functional organization leadership to enable the business have compliant operating practices, policies, and rates that enable maximum recovery of cost on US Government contracts. The desired candidate must excel in the analysis of financial data and will be accountable for the full rate lifecycle including rate generation, government financial reporting, audit support, forecasting, variance analysis, and the submission of final indirect rates.

In partnership with the business areas and functional teams, this position drives continuous improvement of the indirect rate development, FPRP, and ICS process using lean concepts.

A successful candidate will influence and collaborate optimally across groups at all organizational levels to achieve objectives, as well as develop and sustain lean compliant processes and procedures. They interact with US government regulators and customers, including the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA).


The day-to-day

  • Manage the preparation and submission of journal entries for month end close of the indirect rates.
  • Provide actionable analysis, insights, and recommendations for compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable regulations to business management and program leadership enabling sound business decision making.
  • Lead in the implementation of SAP S/4HANA related to the indirect allocations process for both U.S. and international cost allocations.
  • Analyze financial information to ensure costs are aligned to appropriate cost pools for submission of FPRP and ICS to various government agencies, as well as internal partners.
  • Monitor requirements for FPRP and ICS adequacy and make process and content changes in the preparation of FPRP and ICS submissions that meet all current requirements.
  • Manage process and documentation that support the development and audit of the rates.
  • Establish effective, close working relationships and lines of communication with cost and functional owners to ensure timely and accurate support for FPRP and ICS submissions.
  • Support internal, DCMA, and DCAA audits cultivating a strong relationship with the auditors.
  • Exhibit the ability to work in a constantly evolving, fast growing environment on high visibility projects and programs.
  • Identify streamline processes and reduce waste.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • SAP S/4HANA Experience
  • 4+ years' operating cost analytics experience and/or indirect rate development
  • 3+ years cost accounting experience
  • Significant experience in Finance, Government Accounting, and applicable regulations and guidance (CAS, FAR, DFARS, DCAA Contract Audit Manual)

Salary range

$103,500.00 - $148,000.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $129,000.00- $174,000.00/ annually
