What you'll do

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Accounting Manager to join our dynamic Government Segment team in Carlsbad, CA! This hybrid role offers the unique blend of working collaboratively within our Carlsbad office and the flexibility of remote work.

The Corporate Accounting Manager will be responsible for the development and monitoring of indirect cost rates, ensuring accurate and timely financial close. This role involves comprehensive rate lifecycle management, including rate generation, financial reporting, audit support, forecasting, and variance analysis. You will partner with functional organization leadership to optimize cost allocation and financial processes.

A key focus will be driving continuous improvement in indirect rate development and related financial processes using lean concepts, particularly through the effective implementation and utilization of SAP S/4HANA.

You will collaborate across all organizational levels to achieve objectives, develop and sustain lean, compliant processes and procedures, and lead the charge in optimizing financial workflows.


The day-to-day

  • Manage the preparation and submission of journal entries for month-end close related to indirect cost rates.
  • Provide actionable analysis, insights, and recommendations to business management and program leadership, enabling sound financial decision-making.
  • Assist in the implementation and optimization of SAP S/4HANA related to indirect cost allocations for both domestic and international operations.
  • Experience in one or several of these areas: cost accounting, estimating, financial planning, budgeting or forecasting.
  • A working knowledge of Government Accounting, and applicable regulations and guidance (CAS, FAR, DFARS, DCAA Contract Audit Manual)
  • Analyze financial information to ensure costs are accurately aligned to appropriate cost pools.
  • Monitor and enhance processes and documentation that support the development and audit of cost rates.
  • Establish effective working relationships with cost and functional owners to ensure timely and accurate support for financial reporting.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of operating cost analytics, financial forecasting, budgeting, estimating, cost accounting, or other related experience.
  • Strong experience in Finance and applicable accounting regulations and guidance.
  • Extensive SAP S/4HANA experience, particularly in cost accounting and financial modules.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of analyzing and resolving problems.
  • Established capability in leading programs/projects.
  • Ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Proven track record in anticipating, identifying, and resolving challenging financial issues.
  • Proven excellent analytical abilities.
  • Outstanding MS Excel skills.
  • Experience with Ledger, Workday, Oracle, or other major ERP systems.

What will help you on the job

  • Accounting certification (CPA, CMA, or similar).
  • Prior government audit experience.

Salary range

$97,500.00 - $154,000.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $121,000.00- $182,000.00/ annually
