The Vice President, Marketing, Branding and External Communications, plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing Astrion's marketing and communication strategies. This leader will work closely with executive leadership to develop and implement high-impact multimedia campaigns that engage key external audiences, including federal government customers, prospective clients, industry partners, media, and top talent. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication and media relations skills, as well as the ability to lead teams and collaborate across the organization. This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution, leveraging innovative marketing tactics and emerging tools to elevate Astrion's brand, amplify its mission, and position the company as a premier industry leader. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
10+ years of experience in marketing, communications, and/or creative leadership, with at least 4 years managing marketing and communications teams and driving brand elevation. Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field (preferred). Proven experience designing and leading recruiting marketing and targeted customer/market campaigns to elevate brand awareness and engagement within the GovCon market space. Expertise in transformational brand, marketing, and communications initiatives within government technology and consulting companies. Strong understanding of the government technology and consulting industry and its market dynamics. Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate with executive leadership and external stakeholders. Experience managing media relations and external partnerships with professionalism and integrity. Exceptional project, budget, and time management skills. Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable marketing strategies. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal communications to maintain alignment and consistency in messaging. Deep knowledge of emerging marketing and communications trends and their application in a competitive landscape. Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and Execute Strategy - Shape and drive an overall marketing and communications strategy to enhance Astrion's brand awareness, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market growth initiatives. Lead the Marketing & Communications Team - Oversee a team of portfolio and solutions marketers, digital communication specialists, and creative and editorial professionals to execute Astrion's brand and business strategies effectively. Enhance Marketing & Communications Capabilities - Implement best practices, tools, and performance metrics to continuously improve marketing and external communications efforts. Drive Market Engagement - Develop and execute marketing and communications plans to support Astrion's key business areas, including solutions and technology, markets and growth, strategic partnerships, M&A, and talent acquisition. Ensure Consistent Brand Messaging - Oversee the development and placement of compelling, cohesive messaging across all communication channels, ensuring alignment with Astrion's corporate strategy and brand differentiation. Optimize Budget for Maximum Impact - Manage and allocate Astrion's marketing budget to maximize business return on investment and ensure cost-effective execution of initiatives. Serve as Corporate Spokesperson - Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including media, industry influencers, and strategic partners. Executive External Communications - Provide direct communications support to Astrion's senior leadership, elevating their visibility and enhancing their ability to effectively represent and promote Astrion. Foster Innovation - Champion a culture of creativity and innovation, ensuring Astrion's marketing and communications strategies leverage the latest trends, tools, and best practices.
