Summary

The Bluestake Inspector oversees/inspects the day-to-day activities of contractors who will be working near or in close proximity of the APS underground electric system on major construction projects & act as quality assurance for major Bluestake projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Three (3) years Construction/Engineering and/or Locating experience, or equivalent.
  • Requires knowledge of Bluestake and Power Line Safety State Laws, construction practices and OSHA regulations.
  • Good internal/external customer and human relation skills.
  • Ability/skill to make quick and accurate decisions

Major Accountabilities

1) Responsible for minimizing potential damages & preventing future problems by ensuring Contractors are fulfilling legal requirements of the Bluestake Law.

2) Ensure proper installation of other underground facilities and/or structures within close proximity of our existing underground electrical facilities by adhering to Electric Construction Standards.

3)Investigate reported Dig-ins by inspecting actual field conditions, reviewing documentation and researching discrepancies.

4) Investigate customer/contractor complaints by reviewing alternatives and taking decisive/corrective action.

5) Ensure proper notification of conditions, repairs, activities affecting the safe operation of our electrical system by interfacing with various APS Departments (i.e. Construction, Operations, Engineering, Liaison).

6) Maintain Company, Contractor, & Public Relations by communicating progress/activities relating to safe operation/reliability of our electrical system.

On-site:Requires work to be performed in the field and/or at an APS facility. Depending on the responsibilities of the role, this may include, but is not limited to, working at a power plant, job site, or in the community.
