Senior Portfolio Manager
San Diego, CA

We are seeking an experienced portfolio manager with strong program management knowledge and skills to join our Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) team. In this role, you will drive critical objectives and outcomes essential for improving portfolio management capabilities and maturity on a global scale. As Sr. Portfolio Manager, you will partner with teams and leaders in PMO, product management, engineering, and more.

Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management:



  • Maintain and help evolve SPM standards, process, tools and templates (e.g., SPM Playbook)
  • Communicate portfolio information to Program and Mission Group leads
  • Maintain the portfolio program and resource capacity models
  • Understand key alignment and interdependencies across the Portfolio
  • Partner with Program and Mission Group Leads to address cross-program and portfolio level issue escalation and management
  • Obtain feedback from key stakeholders for use in continuous SPM improvements
  • Maintain the SPM implementation roadmap


Portfolio Analytics:



  • Maintain the process for portfolio and resource / capacity model data collection to drive the ability to report on portfolio and resource / capacity information to drive data-driven decisions
  • Provide analysis on the portfolio and create reports to be used by senior management
  • Develop reporting to track and manage the overall health of the in-flight portfolio
  • Understand the portfolio resource planning and tracking models, evolving them as needed


Intake and Prioritization:



  • Facilitate the program intake and prioritization process, in partnership with leaders from Product Management, Engineering, Design, and PMO.
  • Conduct/support regular planning meetings to review new portfolio / program requests and determine their disposition
  • Understand the impact of portfolio / program additions and/or changes on resources, capacity, sequencing and delivery
  • Identify interdependencies across programs and Mission Groups


Governance:



  • Facilitate key governance meetings to drive standardization and promote active governance
  • Maintain processes and reports that support the ability to effectively govern the portfolio


Program Management



  • Coordinate the SPM team's activities into manageable workstreams and projects with clearly defined objectives, owners, and timelines.
  • Understand key alignment and interdependencies across workstreams within the SPM and its activities to track and monitor progress effectively.
  • Drive objectives and outcomes for SPM, and identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks.
  • Build and maintain SPM team's standards and documentation of portfolio management processes, procedures, and templates.


Qualifications:



  • 8+ years proven experience in portfolio management in a similar or related field.
  • Expertise in program management, including modern tools and methodologies.
  • Highly organized, dedicated, great teammate that takes initiative and can influence outcomes autonomously in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of successfully communicating with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborator management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

In addition, this role

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$149,900 $224,900 USD
