About the College/Unit/Department |
In 2018, The
UGA Tifton Campus began a yearlong Centennial celebration with various events to commemorate its 100th anniversary of providing updated research to the community.
Research is done on a wide range of commodities, including cotton, peanuts, vegetables and turf grass, all of which make agriculture the No. 1 industry in Georgia.
In 2004, a teaching program was initiated and it has been growing ever since. College-level instruction on campus is aimed at undergraduate and graduate-degree level study. |

Position Summary |
This position performs administrative and support duties for the Assistant Dean of the
Tifton Campus. The incumbent works closely with the Assistant Dean to ensure smooth operation of the Tifton Campus and the departments located on it. Duties include managing all aspects of the Assistant Dean's schedule; acts on behalf of the Assistant Dean as delegated; manages 4-H and development accounts under Assistant Dean's budgetary control; manages campus committees, tracks membership and rotation of the membership; communicates with the faculty and staff for the Assistant Dean; assists in communication with Tifton instructional programs; assists in interpreting policies and procedures pertaining to the campus; assists in preparation of College and University reports; and interfaces with constituents of the campus, interacting with the community, agricultural and political groups, providing information, guidance and contacts. |

Administrative Support Manages the day to day activities serving as a point of contact for the Assistant Dean of the Tifton Campus including but not limited to scheduling, responding to and participating in all campus activities related to the Assistant Dean's office.
- Coordinate scheduling for the Assistant Dean with students, staff, faculty, administration, the general public, political and agribusiness leaders.
- Discretely coordinate highly sensitive meetings that may require corrective action with regards to personnel matters.
- Schedule meeting space for college administration, campus personnel, political and agri-leaders, occasionally needing conference room set up to include refreshments and technical resources.
- Serve as a liaison among stakeholders, participants, parents and faculty to address concerns.
- Advise involved faculty and staff on updated policies and procedures; tactfully communicate changes in policy and practice.
- Organizes, recruits and assigns faculty and staff to various campus committees; organizes and oversees details of campus-wide events.
