Position Description
ERT is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Associate to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for supporting the CFO, business unit and company leadership with corporate, BU and project-level financial planning, reporting, and management. The individual will report directly to the CFO, serve as an important liaison between finance & accounting, business unit and other operational teams, and have an influential voice in corporate strategy. This role will be highly visible to the rest of the organization and will play a key part in supporting strategic decision-making through financial analysis and insights as well as M&A research, strategy formulation, due diligence and execution / integration. Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to support management up and down the enterprise
- Serve as the owner of project revenue and profitability forecasts through development and maintenance of a monthly contract waterfall
- Own and manage the budget tracking process for ERT, liaising with key stakeholders and budget owners and developing plans and targets to manage towards
- Monitor project-level performance against budget and serve as key liaison between the CFO org, BU management and corporate leadership on budget and financial performance
- Collaborate closely with the CFO to develop and maintain detailed BU-level and enterprise forecasts for P&L, balance sheet and cashflow
- Support M&A activities by conducting comprehensive research on potential acquisition targets, performing financial due diligence for potential acquisitions and assisting with post-merger integration efforts
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support strategic decision-making across finance, business units, and executive leadership
- Partner with other finance & accounting team members to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within a fast-paced work environment experiencing strong growth
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting and financial forecasting
- Proven experience with financial modeling and analysis techniques, with a strong focus on Excel proficiency
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- In-depth knowledge of financial statement analysis and management reporting
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with minimal oversight and direction
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments and leadership levels
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to pass a background investigation to obtain access to applicable government systems as needed.
Desired
- Prior experience with M&A-related activities highly desired
- Formative professional experience in transaction services, investment banking, private equity, or strategic advisory/consulting is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in corporate FP&A or project finance a plus, particularly at government contractors and/or PE-backed companies.
- Familiarity with federal contracting environment and standard contract types
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Location
This is a hybrid position reporting to ERT's Tysons Corner, VA office with 1-3 days/week expected on site.
Salary
The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $130,000/year. This range is a good faith estimate based on similar roles across the organization. ERT considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including the location, scope, and associated responsibilities of the specific position, as well as a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
