THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will engage in regular tasks related to meal preparation and the sanitation of food preparation and serving areas at the Southeastern Veterans Center. Responsibilities encompass the cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, work surfaces, and various kitchen items; preparing trays, measuring portions, serving food, and transporting trays, carts, and nourishment; as well as operating equipment such as mixers, dicers, slicers, knives, and grinders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is permanent part-time employment, 40 hours bi-weekly
  • Work hours on a rotating days and weekends, with a 30-minute lunch
    • 1st shift - 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
    • 2nd shift - 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualification (not required):

  • Previous food service work experience

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
