The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for driving new business, maintaining and growing existing accounts, and ensuring a seamless collaboration between sales and operations. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, highly communicative, and innovative, with a strong ability to develop strategies, execute sales plans, and track performance using metrics. This role is not only about selling but also about supporting operations to ensure service excellence, exceeding customer expectations, and strengthening the company's market presence.
Essential Job Functions
1. Relationship Management & Customer Engagement:
* Develop and foster long-term relationships with Tier 1, 2, and 3 manufacturers, Aerospace Primes, and other industry partners requiring NDT services.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring responsiveness, clear communication, and a high level of service.
* Proactively seek new business opportunities, expanding the company's footprint within the aerospace and manufacturing sectors.
* Regularly meet with customers on-site and virtually understand their needs, offer solutions, and ensure continued satisfaction.
* Communicate regularly and transparently with both customers and internal teams, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
2. Sales Strategy & Business Development:
* Define, develop, and execute strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth.
* Identify, qualify, and close new sales opportunities while maintaining a strong pipeline of prospects.
* Utilize metrics-driven analysis to track performance, measure success, and adjust strategies as needed.
* Leverage market intelligence and customer feedback to refine offerings and tailor sales strategies.
* Lead proposal development, including pricing, contract negotiations, and service agreements.
3. Marketing & Communication:
* Collaborate with internal teams to develop marketing materials, presentations, and outreach strategies to attract new business.
* Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, building brand awareness and establishing key connections.
* Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in NDT and aerospace manufacturing.
* Support branding and content efforts through case studies, white papers, and customer success stories.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operations Support:
* Work closely with operations, quality, and technical teams to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
* Be a bridge between sales and operations, ensuring a collaborative approach to business development and execution.
* Provide internal feedback on customer needs, market demands, and service improvements.
* Assist in project planning and execution, ensuring smooth onboarding and continued customer satisfaction.
* Support internal teams with forecasting, capacity planning, and resource allocation based on upcoming customer needs.
5. Process Improvement & Internal Leadership:
* Actively contribute ideas and concepts to improve business processes, service offerings, and operational efficiency.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and shared success.
* Serve as a mentor and resource to colleagues, fostering a team-oriented environment.
* Encourage an open dialogue and share knowledge to enhance the organization's collective expertise.
6. Performance Tracking & Reporting:
* Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline development in CRM tools.
* Provide regular reports to leadership on sales performance, market insights, and customer feedback.
* Track KPIs and success metrics to measure effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
Job Qualifications
* High school diploma or 7 years Managerial Experience within the NDT Market
* Excellent analytical, interpersonal communication abilities, coupled with the proven ability to balance priorities
* Experience with internal and/or external customers or accounts
* Experience with RFP projects and/or process activities
* Experience working with contracts
* Proficient with Microsoft Office products suite, and ability to learn new software applications and computer programs.
* Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software Office 365 experience preferred
* Travel Requirements: 0% - 50%
Work Conditions
* Position is located in Connecticut and will have accountability for 1129 and not limited to all Aerospace facilities.
* Work is conducted in a semi-private office/cubicle setting with minimal work from home space.
* Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must always be available.
